Wilshire Grand Center – Global Business Hotspot

LOS ANGELES, June 8, 2018 – Cushman & Wakefield announced that Arup has this week signed a 15-year lease at the Wilshire Grand Center. In the largest office lease in DTLA this year, the London-based design and engineering consultancy will initially occupy 66,000 square feet on floors 18 to 20 of the 356,500 RSF office portion of the project.

Anchored by London-based Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG), the Wilshire Grand Center has attracted other global firms like Cushman & Wakefield and Korean Air. The new Arup lease and others under negotiation will bring the project to 70% leased. Cushman & Wakefield’s Chairman of Global Transactions, John C. Cushman, III, and Executive Director, Steve Marcussen, represented the owner Hanjin International Corporation.

“As an employee-owned, global company, Arup quickly recognized that the sustainable workplace at the Wilshire Grand Center enhanced their ability to compete for high-level talent from all across Los Angeles,” said John C. Cushman, III. Arup was represented by Colliers International and Legacy Real Estate in their plans to grow from smaller space in Playa Vista, California.

Wilshire Grand Center was designed by A.C. Martin & Associates as a mixed-use global workplace and is now the new architectural icon on the Los Angeles skyline. The 2.1-million-square-foot development features the 900 room InterContinental Hotel and the largest meeting room and ballroom complex in Los Angeles. Reaching to 1,100 feet, the Wilshire Grand Center is the tallest building in the Western US. Arup will join the other global tenants with the right to display its name on the 75’ tall building-top electronic signs.
