Congratulations are in order! Caria Dunbar, Leon Sylvers, and their team at 1055 E. Colorado Boulevard won big at the 33rd Annual TOBY® Awards Gala in Los Angeles, taking home the top prize in the 100,000-249,999-sf category.
The black tie awards gala took place on October 4 at The Beverly Hilton. Every year the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA International) honors outstanding commercial office buildings and excellence in building management. An Outstanding Building of the Year Award from BOMA International is the most prestigious recognition that building operators can achieve in commercial real estate.
During the competition, all facets of a building’s operations are thoroughly evaluated by BOMA International. Buildings are judged on everything from community involvement, tenant relations and site management to environmental and “green” policies and procedures.
Caria and Leon, who manage the 184,660-sf Pasadena property on behalf of Beacon Capital Partners, used their creativity and successfully implemented Beacon’s tenant amenity platform to make their building evaluation extra memorable: The team topped off the TOBY tour by singing a custom song, “BOMA Fever,” to the judges.
“We are so incredibly proud of our team at 1055 East Colorado for their well-deserved TOBY win,” said Karinna Cassidy, Senior Managing Director of Asset Services. “Caria and Leon are extremely dedicated to the asset and their performance is second to none. We’re thrilled at BOMA’s recognition of their hard work.”
